University of Chichester Conservatoire 72 hours, fixed-term for the academic year 2022/2023 An opportunity has arisen to recruit someone to join our vibrant Musical Theatre Performance team to contribute to the University’s undergraduate degree routes. As an Associate Lecturer your role will be to contribute to key activities of the team to include the further development of the programmes, teaching and assessments. The programmes adopt a student centric approach to learning and teaching and successful candidates will have experience of delivering high quality, interactive teaching or training activities together with the energy, enthusiasm, organisational skills and flexibility which will contribute to enhancing the student experience. The majority of the teaching is face to face, but you must have the ability to use blended and remote delivery as required working with a range of IT packages and the VLE “Moodle”. Candidates should have an appropriate teaching /or equivalent professional qualifications and experience and have extensive recent relevant teaching / practical experience in a variety of practical related skills including piano accompaniment, knowledge of key works within Musical Theatre and audition/industry experience. It is anticipated that all staff will be engaged with the development of best practice in Musical Theatre performance and its assessment, as well as in current developments in pedagogy. Knowledge and experience of academic frameworks in conjunction with an analytical approach to the study of practical Musical Theatre skills will also be required.
