The Department of Engineering, Computing and Design (ECAD) is delighted to be able to offer a permanent post of Lecturer in Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering. We are a growing department and this is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic, innovative academic to help shape the future of Engineering at the University of Chichester by developing and delivering high quality teaching and building a successful research area. The Department offers a growing range of undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Management and Computer Science, including substantial degree apprenticeship provision. We are now developing an exciting new programme in Aeronautical and Aerospace Engineering for a lecturer who is comfortable teaching in these areas as well as Mechanical Engineering. Our programmes are recognised for their academic quality, innovation and the close ties to the industries in which our graduates will work. ECAD operate from their home in the Tech Park, which is a state-of-the-art 35 million building based on the University’s Bognor Regis campus. We are particularly looking for applicants with research interest and experience in one or more of the following areas, although all outstanding candidates will be considered: Computer aided engineering including CAD and FEA (ideally SolidWorks) Materials science. Dynamic systems. Propulsion systems CFD and aerodynamics Aircraft control and/or design A doctorate in a relevant field combined with a developing research record is an essential requirement and you will be expected to either continue with an established research area or establish a new research area which aligns with the department’s growth strategy.
