Permanent, Part time
Based in Worthing area

Interview date: 18th May 2016

This position is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check (formerly Criminal Records Bureau check)

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Southern Older Person's mental health team. Due to two post holders moving on, vacancies have now arisen in the East side of the team, which is based in Shoreham and also covers rural areas.

The team consists of qualified social workers and assistant care managers who are co-located with health colleagues but remain employed by the council.

The team work with older customers who are experiencing functional and organic mental health problems.

We are keen to recruit enthusiastic and experienced social workers but would also consider newly qualified applicants who can demonstrate a particular interest in working within mental health services.

You should have knowledge of mental health issues, a good understanding of the Care Act and Mental Capacity Act and be able to provide examples of where you have used these in practice.

Experience of safeguarding work and a willingness to work in a multi-disciplinary setting as part of a wider team with health colleagues is essential.

We are looking for confident and resilient applicants who are willing to work as part of a close team covering duty, hospital link work and Dementia Crisis work as well as being able to problem solve in an autonomous manner.

Due to the rural nature of the area, a driver is preferrable.

WSCC are a supportive employer, keen to develop staff and offer training and CPD, including ASYE.

We would welcome applications from AMHP's although this is not essential to the role, there would be an opportunity to undertake the training in the future
