There’s a real momentum at West Sussex County Council. We’re focused on creating more positive outcomes for children and their families and we have the optimism and enthusiasm to achieve it. We’ve already redesigned our service, transforming both our systems and the way we work. We’ve been inspired as one of only ten authorities involved in the Signs of Safety England Innovations Project. Join us as a frontline social work manager, and you’ll be empowered. With experienced people around you and a senior leadership team backing you up, you’ll be in an environment in which you can focus on real social work and the child’s journey. We’re talking manageable caseloads, good access to administrative support and reflective supervision. Add excellent training including five guaranteed days of CPD per year, and it’s a winning formula. Ready to share your great ideas, great practice and great outcomes, you will manage a small team within a specialist area, dealing with complex family dynamics and high levels of risk in partnership with a range of agencies. It’s a chance to make your mark as you provide expertise and guidance to colleagues to ensure that families get the interventions and support they need. Passionate about making a difference, you will be responsible for motivating and leading a small group of social workers and other staff, providing expert supervision, mentoring /coaching and supporting the development of reflective and relationship based practice. You will need a full driving licence and access to a vehicle. Practice Manager – Assessment and Intervention (south) based in Worthing Practice Manager – Assessment and Intervention (north) based in Crawley The Assessment and Intervention Service has been redesigned to focus on providing more children with help at an earlier stage. The goal is to provide more interventions, alongside assessment and effective planning for children to ensure that there is sustainable positive change. The teams work closely with a range of partners including those delivering Early Help. All work is under pinned by the Signs of Safety Model and the child’s experience is at the heart of our service: which means that everything we do and the way we do it can be explained in terms of impact and best outcome for the child. Practice Manager – Social Work Academy (south based in Worthing and north based in Crawley) This is a great opportunity to join us as we expand our successful SW Academy teams. The SW Academy provides a detailed programme of support and training to NQSW’s during their first year in practice. We are looking for Practice Managers who are passionate about supporting social work development, reflective supervision and practice. You will also have a good understanding of the ASYE scheme and the new Knowledge and Skills statement for child and family social workers.
