We aim, through the Early Childhood service (ECS), to work with children, families, early years and childcare settings and partner organisations to help ensure that every child is supported to achieve his or her potential. These early years are when the foundations for future mental health, emotional well-being, intelligence and parenting ability are all set in place. The home surroundings, family life and parenting are all important factors in determining positive outcomes for children in the future. You will work as part of a flexible staff group providing Children and Family Centre services across a spectrum of need in accordance with the Childcare Act 2006. Services will be provided in partnership with families and in line with statutory guidance and County Council priorities. Children and Family Centre services aim to support families in making positive changes and enable children and young people to reach their full potential. Services are underpinned by a commitment to treating people as individuals. You will work flexibly across a locality from a range of locations including those of partner agencies and provide a rural outreach service for Children and Family Centres, as part of the centres’ core offer (key elements of service delivery as required by Department for Education). You will provide information and support to parents /carers and their children and act as point of access, signposting to range of local services through schools, children and family centres, and other integrated services.
