Compliance Manager, Sussex. Up to £38k plus excellent benefits and annual bonus. (3-4 day week)

Individual is required for this insurance operation to provide comprehensive Compliance services to ensure the organisation is fully compliant with FCA regulations and requirements, meeting statutory and legislative obligations. To also ensure the company follows all relevant codes, guidance or requirements imposed on it by the Regulator and/or other external bodies including the ICO.

Key Responsibilities:
To provide Compliance support and guidance to the business. Being a technical reference point in respect of the FCA Handbook requirements including; insurance conduct of business (ICOBS), systems and controls (SYSC), complaints dispute resolution (DISP) and the FCA Principles including treating customers fairly (TCF).
To act as Data Protection Officer for the business.
Ongoing review and updating of Compliance risks to the business as part of the operational risk management process.
Work with key business stakeholders to analyse the potential impact of Compliance regulations and/or legislation on existing and new processes. Implementing solutions to ensure risk of non compliance is minimised.
Devise and implement appropriate Compliance policies, procedures and practices to assist in developing compliant behaviours.
Establish and undertake an effective internal monitoring programme to monitor ongoing regulatory and legislative compliance. Undertake monitoring reviews, analyse results and assist management to make appropriate changes to controls/procedures as required.
Regularly provide relevant Compliance management information to the Board and management team including reporting of any breaches of policy or procedures.
Investigate and co-ordinate any issues/breaches reported by employees under the Data Incident Response Plan.
Assist in the reporting requirements for FCA and/or other legal or regulatory bodies including
maintaining records to FCA requirements.

Experience/skills required.
Demonstrate significant experience gained within a Compliance background.
Practical experience of completing FCA RMAR returns.
Practical internal monitoring experience.
Proven knowledge of FCA Handbook requirements and Compliance best practice.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Well organised with an adaptable and flexible attitude/approach.
Self motivated, driven, customer orientated/focused and able to work well on own initiative and at times alone.
