The Business School is looking to recruit an Associate Lecturer in Economics to develop and teach an introductory Level 5 module in macroeconomics. The module will have a core syllabus and an element of choice of study for students. Students can expect to be asked to study: national accounting; the circular flow of income model; money; credit creation; money illusion; central banks. In doing this, students will encounter the ideas of Keynes, Irving Fisher, Milton Friedman, Joseph Schumpeter and others. Students may be invited or may choose to study other themes, for example: Marx''s economics; globalisation; happiness; economic development.

Teaching will take place over 11 weeks and consists of one 3 hour interactive style workshop per week to less than 15 students. The Semester begins on 15th January and ends 11th May 2018.

The successful candidate will be able to give preferred teaching times and will be responsible for setting and marking the assessment. Recognising that this course will need to be developed, the contract will be for 60 hours at GBP 41.44 per hour.
