About the Role

New Horizons School requires a Teacher/Instructor

“Nurture Learning Provision- NLP”

The Executive Head and Governors are looking to appoint an outstanding practitioner who has the experience and vision to lead our newest venture in supporting our most vulnerable learners.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be an experienced teaching/instructor practitioner with a firm, purposeful and resilient approach both in and outside of the classroom
  • Be committed to developing a personalised program for hard to reach pupils
  • Have experience of delivering the curriculum
  • Have excellent planning, differentiation and monitoring skills
  • Be able to assess pupils on entry to identify education gaps
  • Have a strong understanding and application of de-escalation techniques, strategies and physical intervention
  • Be able to adapt the curriculum to support behaviour modification in a range of settings
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Be able to liaise effectively with external theraputic agencies
  • Have an excellent analytical and solution focussed mindset

The school will need to ensure that they are not knowingly employing a person who is disqualified under the 2009 Regulations in connection with relevant childcare provision. Accordingly, the successful candidate will be required to demonstrate to the school, by completing a self-declaration form as part of the pre-employment checks process, that they have not been disqualified under the 2009 Regulations.

If the preferred candidate is found to be disqualified under the 2009 Regulations, the offer of employment will be subject to the application by the preferred candidate to Ofsted for a waiver and the receipt of a waiver from Ofsted.

Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
