Job Details

Hours of work: 17.5 hours per week. Working pattern: Part-time, Term-time.

(As the position is part-time/term-time only, the above salary will be pro rata)

About the Role

We are seeking to appoint an Individual Needs Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil in lower key stage 2 with complex emotional needs.

The working hours will be from 8:30am to 12:00pm Monday to Friday, i.e. a total of 17.5 hours per week. Initially, this post will be for a fixed term period of 1 year, potentially leading to a permanent position.

The successful candidate will have a high level of emotional intelligence and the ability to pick up on and react positively to changes in learners' mood, demeanour and behaviour. You will be required to follow guidance and direction from both school staff and external professionals.

To become part of our outstanding team as an Individual Needs Assistants, you will need to:

- Positively promote and support inclusion in the classroom and playground, ensuring that learners feel involved with   tasks and activities. - Actively encourage learners to be as independent as possible, encouraging them to fulfil their potential and promoting their self-esteem and happiness. - Establish and maintain constructive relationships with parents/carers/support workers/other professionals using appropriate methods of communication. - Be aware of and comply with, policies and procedures relating to child protection, safeguarding, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person. - Have the ability to work effectively as part of a team and conduct oneself professionally at all times. - Show willingness to research and attend training to further develop skills. - Support learners on school trips and wider school activities. - Demonstrate the vision and values of the school in everyday work and practice.

Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
