Our Energy Team is part of our recently created Energy, Waste and Environment Directorate at West Sussex County Council. With ambitions to be regarded locally and nationally as a centre of excellence in all we do. It’s an exciting time to join our team.

An opportunity has arisen to promote and integrate principles and practices around energy efficiency and low carbon energy generation into the County Council functions; as well as lead, develop and promote initiatives such as the Sussex energy tariff for residents and businesses.

The post requires sound project management skills and the ability to communicate with many different organisations including brokering partnerships with other local authorities and the private sector; and leading on the creation and management of working groups to generate sound business cases for projects.

You will need to have ample and demonstrable experience in project management, effective use of IT resources, a keen eye for detail and excellent communication and organisational skills, with an ability to work independently.
