With you, with the child…Every step of the way

We’re working together as one professional team, in an environment based on high challenge and high support, creating more positive outcomes for the children and families in our care. As a leadership team we will stand at your side, supporting you every step of the way

‘My new Social Worker will keep me safe’ (Quote from a child)

The Family Support and Protection Service (FSP) play a key role in child protection, child in need cases and safety planning for children. We undertake meaningful, transparent direct work with children and their families ensuring the most positive outcomes.

There are strong links with colleagues within Children’s Social Care and our legal team to ensure cases are managed by the correct team with the child at the centre of everything we do.

As a Social Worker within the FSP service you will be working to deliver first class support to vulnerable children and families utilising the Signs of Safety framework. We are proud with the work we have undertaken and the strong links we have with Professor Eileen Munro and Andrew Turnell.

Our diverse FSP practice teams work within a positive, nurturing environment where successes are celebrated and individuals within the team are supported to grow and develop.

‘Within West Sussex I have moved from Social Worker, to Practice Manager to Group Manager. At each stage I have felt my contributions have been recognised and I have been supported to take up new challenges by some fantastic people so I feel confident and capable, and safe in my work, and I expect to provide the same opportunities for others’ (Quote from Group Manager in FSP).

The teams are motivated and encouraged to think dynamically and creatively. We plan for the future by sharing our successes and working together as a team to develop.

We are looking for emotionally intelligent, organised, resilient individuals who are able to evidence the value they could add to our team. You must have excellent writing and communication skills as you will need to produce reports for conference and court purposes.

As a social worker you will have access to excellent learning and development provision, post graduate training pathway with local university as well as access to Research in Practice and Community Care Inform. You are also guaranteed a minimum of 5 days per year CPD.
