Working as part of the Amenity Team every day is different. You could be up at one of our allotments using the tractor to rotavate a plot; planting flowers on the roundabouts; or repainting the hall at our community centre. It also involves helping with our events, like the Town Show, setting up barriers, cones and helping on the day to make sure 5,000 visitors enjoy the show.

Training will be provided but most importantly we are looking for people with initiative and enthusiasm. This is a physical job that will keep you on your toes, meeting lots of people and working with a great team. The job involves working weekends and overtime is payable.

In addition to the above the Deputy will supervise the casual staff that work events and in peak periods. They will also deputise for the Amenity Team Co-ordinator when they’re on annual leave, organising the jobs that come in.

Benefits include 23 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays. There is also the opportunity to join the Local Government Pension Scheme.
