PART TIME WELLBEING ADVISER SCALE 5 (20,456 TO 22,434 per annum pro-rata) 15 hours per week, normally over two days including regular evening and occasional weekend working. Would you like to help people to understand how to reduce their risks for cardiovascular disease, stroke, diabetes type 2 and preventable cancers? Would you be good at motivating people to improve their lifestyles by eating more healthily, getting more active and achieving a healthy weight? Do you like to engage with people on both a one-to-one basis and in groups? Are you well organised and good at administration? Arun Wellbeing has a vacancy for a Wellbeing Adviser, working within a proactive and friendly team at Arun District Council. Our Wellbeing Advisers visit workplaces to offer Wellbeing MOTs to employees, meet clients one to one, lead weight management classes and pre-diabetes courses, and get out into the community to promote health and wellbeing through talks and promotional events. The holder of this particular post is also responsible for the coordination and administration of our pre-diabetes courses, which are delivered (on a rotation) by all members of the wellbeing adviser team including the holder of this post. Arun Wellbeing has been commissioned by the West Sussex County Council Department of Public Health, to develop a prevention and wellbeing programme for adults of all ages. We have a particular focus on supporting behaviour change in people with increased risk of developing cardiovascular disease, stroke, diabetes type 2 and cancer through providing information, signposting and motivational support. As well as the core team of wellbeing advisers, the wider Arun Wellbeing team members offer physical activity sessions, healthy eating courses, fuel poverty advice and a family-based wellbeing programme.
