Team Manager Mental Capacity Act & DoLs – Passionate about practice? Lead our dynamic and developing MCA & DoLs Team. We manage the Council’s responsibilities as Supervisory Body and provide advice, support and leadership in the application of the Mental Capacity Act and the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.

You will have responsibility for leading the delivery of West Sussex’s duties in relation to the role of Supervisory Body as prescribed by the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards’ Code of Practice. You will manage the DoLS team, supervise staff undertaking Best Interest Assessments, and develop staff to take on this role, and oversee high level of quality assurance of the work carried out by BIA assessors.

Building and developing collaborative relationships and networks with adult social care teams, agencies and other key stakeholders to achieve effective team working and systems development in line with the role and function of the MCA/DoLS’ Team.

You will have extensive experience in undertaking Best Interest Assessments, as well as previous experience in managing and developing staff. You will be expected to be an excellent role model and motivator who will guide staff towards improved practice.
