About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Joint Domestic Violence, Sexual Violence and Violence against Women and Girls Unit, which operates between Brighton & Hove City Council and East Sussex County Council. Working across the Brighton & Hove Partnership Community Safety Team (PCST) and the Safer East Sussex Team (SEST), your work will be varied. You will play a lead role in the delivery of Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conferences MARAC in Brighton & Hove and East Sussex.

The successful applicant will be a key officer in the Joint Unit, on a 1 year fixed term contract providing maternity cover. Their responsibilities will include:

- Maintaining the ongoing development and quality assurance of the Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conferences MARACs in East Sussex and Brighton & Hove

- Leading on the development and delivery of action plans resulting from reviews of these MARACs

- Providing line management for the MARAC Coordinators for Brighton & Hove and East Sussex, supporting the post holders to coordinator MARAC meetings in each authority area

- Providing advice and support to MARAC Chairpersons to ensure the smooth running and effectiveness of MARACs in East Sussex and Brighton & Hove.

The successful applicant will be based in Eastbourne, but will need to undertake some travel where appropriate.

This post is subject to an Enhanced DBS check or Enhanced check for Regulated Activity with the Disclosure & Barring Services (previously the Criminal Records Bureau). Please note that we require evidence of an overseas police check if you have lived or worked abroad.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.

Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
