The Assessment and Intervention Service has been redesigned to focus on providing more children with help at an earlier stage. Our goal is to provide more ‘interventions’, applied alongside assessment and effective planning for children to ensure that there is sustainable positive change.

In order to achieve this, the team work is to develop timely, purposeful evidence based Assessment and Interventions plans. Working on these plans for a defined period is intended to achieve the changes required to keep children safe. All work is under pinned by the Signs of Safety Model.

We also want to increase the number of children who receive help without the need for on-going social worker involvement following assessment. Where there is a need for the involvement of a social worker, any changes of social worker, are kept to a minimum.

The aim is to ensure that there is an improvement in outcomes for children in need and their families that is sustainable. The child’s experience is at the heart of our service: which means that everything we do and the way we do it can be explained in terms of impact and best outcome for the child.

As a Group manager you will be responsible for ensuring the principles and objectives of the service are delivered operationally and also that you contribute to the senior management strategic vision of the Contact, Assessment and Intervention service and also the wider children social care vision.

For an informal discussion, please contact Matt Ansell, Service Leader
