Stanhope Lodge is a busy service which supports adults with learning disabilities, who are either residents or short break customers. We require a Support Worker to join the team, working in the Intensive Support Unit. Your key role will be providing direct support to customers with learning disabilities, including activities of daily living, community access and personal care. Good communication and interpersonal skills are vital in order to provide clear and concise specialist advice and guidance to a range of customers. You will need to have a good understanding of how our customers communicate and have knowledge of the principles of positive behaviour support. The ability to remain calm in challenging situations and work independently using your own initiative is necessary to this role. A good awareness of health and safety both for the customer and yourself are required. Previous experience of working in a care setting and with people who have a disability or vulnerable customers is desirable.

You will have the opportunity to undertake a full induction on commencement and receive training specific to the role. You will be required to work a combination of early and late shifts and alternate weekends.
