Stanhope Lodge is a busy service which supports adults with learning disabilities, who are either residents or short break customers. As a support worker your key role will be providing direct support to customers with learning disabilities, including activities of daily living, community access and personal care. Good communication skills are essential to this role in order to provide clear and concise specialist advice and guidance to a range of customers. You will need good health and safety awareness, both for the customer and yourself. You will have the ability to remain calm in potentially challenging situations and be able to work effectively both using your own initiative and as part of the team. Previous experience of people with learning disabilities and care experience is desirable. You will have the opportunity to undertake a full induction on commencement and receive training specific to the role. You will be required to work a combination of early and late shifts and alternate weekends.
