Stanhope Lodge is a busy service which supports adults with learning disabilities. As a Shift Co-ordinator, you be responsible for maintaining a nurturing, positive and safe living environment within the Unit. You will be alert to the needs, safety and well-being of the customers as required under Health and Safety legislation and CQC registration. You will also provide active support (i.e. support that encourages individuals to do as much for themselves as possible) and enable customers in all aspects of their personal and physical care in line with individual customer plan, whilst maintaining their dignity, privacy and independence. This may include assisting customers with their toilet routine, showering, feeding, administering medication, laundry, shopping, assisting with moving and handling, etc. You will work directly with the customers, individually and in groups, ensuring that their emotional, physical, educational and social needs are met. Sound communication and interpersonal skills are essential in order to provide clear and concise advice and specialist guidance to a range of customers. Ideally you will hold Diploma level 2 or equivalent qualification and knowledge of different forms of communication. You need to have demonstrable previous experience of working with vulnerable adults. You will be required to work alternate weekends and sleeping-in-on call duties.
