Are you enthusiastic about making a difference? An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Youth Offending Service to join the Intensive Interventions Team as a qualified Youth Justice Officer. The role involves working directly with high risk, complex and challenging young people subject to court ordered intensive community interventions and custodial sentences. You will need to have excellent engagement skills, the ability to work effectively in a team and communicate with a range of professional agencies and a strong commitment to acheiving positive outcomes for young people. This post requires a professional qualification equivalent to a Diploma in Social Work (indluding Probation qualification, Teaching qualification, etc.), at least 12 months experience working with children or young people in a professional capacity and a good knowledge of the Youth Justice System.

This role is based in Durrington, Worthing but involves travel around the county. You will be required to work some weekends and flexible hours as required.

The part time position is based in the Court and Assessment Team, Youth Offending Service and requires a professional qualification. You will need to have at least 12 months experience of working with children and young people, esperience of report writing and a committment to delivering credible sentences to the court which optimise outcomes for young people. The job will require you to undertake weekly court duties, supervise young people subject to bail programmes and write high quality assessments and reports for court. You will be required to work some weekends and flexible to the needs of the service. Although based in Crawley, this is a county wide post and will require travel across West Sussex.
