Stanhope Lodge is a busy service, which support adults with learning disabilities, either resident here or short break customers.

As a support worker in the intensive support unit at Stanhope Lodge your key role will be providing direct support to customers with learning disabilities, including activities of daily living, community activities and personal care as well as emotional support and socialisation. Good communication skills are essential to this role, both verbal and written and at least 2 years experience of people with learning disabilities and care experience is essential.

You will need to have a good understanding of how our customers communicate through behaviours which may challenge and have knowledge of the principles of positive behaviour support. A good awareness of health & safety both for the customers and yourself are required.

The ability to remain calm in challenging situations and work independently using your own initiative is necessary to this role. You will work as part of a team and the successful applicant will benefit from induction on commencement and training specific to the role. You will be required to work a combination of early and late shifts and alternate weekends.

Salary £16,998 to £17,980 (£6,891 to £7,289 pro rata)
