Cissbury Lodge is a residential children’s home that provides high quality long-term residential care, overnight short breaks and day-care for children and young people with severe learning disabilities. Many of our young people have Autism and can present behaviour that challenges the service. We also care for young people with a range of physical disabilities and health needs. Our aim is to provide a safe, positive, stimulating and fun environment where children and young people have the opportunities to try new experiences and activities. We also work alongside their families, schools and other involved professionals to implement programs developing children & young people’s communication and independence skills as well as improving their behaviour. We are looking for night care assistants who are enthusiastic about children and committed to providing a high standard of care. Night Care Assistants have a wide range of duties including support with personal care needs, managing challenging behaviour and domestic tasks as well as supporting our young people to have a good night’s sleep. An ability to write reports and daily notes is required. Experience of working with disabled children and challenging behaviour would be an advantage. We offer regular supervision and support and a comprehensive training and induction pathway. Please note the interview process for these posts will take place over 2 dates and successful candidates will be required to attend both. The interviews on 3 September 2014 will be during the afternoon/ evening and will include working with children, the interviews on 4 September 2014 will be during the day.
