The multi-agency youth offending service (YOS) provides services before and after court appearances to meet the requirements of the Youth Justice Board. Its aim is to prevent and reduce youth crime.

A unique opportunity has occurred within the Youth Offending Service to work with victims of offending. You will have an ability to be empathic and engaging with victims of crime and an ability to remain impartial whilst dedicated to achieving the best outcomes for victims. The Youth Offending Service is a Restorative Service and so a knowledge and commitment of Restorative Justice is essential. You will also work with young people to enable them to develop a level of empathy with their victims and wherever possible to repair the harm their offending has caused. You will be located within the Restorative Justice Team within the Youth Offending Service. You will have good communication skills and an ability to work independently but also be able to contribute to the team as required.

This is a specialist role within the YOS and is unique in that it works with victims of crime. It is a countywide post, so you will need to travel to other parts of the county. Flexible working is required, including evenings and possibly weekend working.
